Senior Barista

About the role

The Senior Barista leads the coffee team in delivering high‑quality beverages and exceptional guest experiences. This position combines hands‑on coffee preparation with supervision, training, and daily café operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare specialty coffee drinks, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and temperature.
• Monitor coffee quality, grind size, extraction parameters, and freshness.
• Train new baristas on recipes, equipment use, and service standards.
• Coach existing staff, conduct skill evaluations, and enforce SOPs.
• Deliver outstanding customer service and handle complaints professionally.
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar, equipment, and seating area while following food‑safety standards.
• Monitor stock levels, assist with inventory control, and place orders for coffee beans, milk, and supplies.
• Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and manual‑brew tools, reporting and troubleshooting basic issues.

Required profile

• 2–4+ years of barista experience, preferably in specialty coffee.
• Strong knowledge of espresso extraction, milk steaming, and coffee brewing techniques.
• Proven experience training or coaching staff and supervising a team.
• Leadership, good communication, and ability to work under pressure in busy environments.
• Experience with franchise coffee brands is a plus.
