About the role
The Captain Waiter creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere for guests by delivering friendly and efficient service, ensuring high customer satisfaction and repeat business.
Key responsibilities
- Welcome guests, escort them to tables promptly and set up dining areas with linens, silverware, glassware and condiments.
- Present menus, explain preparation methods, ingredients and specials, and answer guest questions.
- Take orders using order slips or electronic devices, coordinate with kitchen staff and ensure timely delivery.
- Monitor the dining experience, check back with guests, and handle additional requests.
- Process bills accurately, present totals, collect payments and clear tables for cleaning.
- Follow cleaning schedules, perform line checks, maintain hygiene standards and assist fellow servers as needed.
Required profile
- Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role at a star hotel or A‑grade restaurant.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing).
- Excellent follow‑up, good training ability and decisive decision‑making.
