Fresh Category Procurement Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Fresh Category Procurement Manager to lead the sourcing and supply of fresh produce, meat, seafood, and dairy across our retail network. You will shape category strategy, optimise product assortment and drive profitability while ensuring high quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies and procurement plans for fresh food segments.
• Analyse market trends, consumer demand and competition to refine assortment and boost sales.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, control costs and optimise supply channels.
• Monitor inventory turnover, design promotional actions and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with procurement, logistics, marketing and other functions to ensure seamless product flow and market promotion.
• Stay updated on industry regulations and continuously improve procurement processes.
• Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing, supply chain, food science or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of category management or procurement experience in the fresh food industry, preferably within retail, e‑commerce or Q‑commerce.
• Strong understanding of market dynamics, supply‑chain systems and category management methods.
• Excellent negotiation, data‑analysis and market‑insight capabilities.
• Proven communication, coordination and team‑leadership skills.
• High sense of responsibility, ability to work under pressure and an innovative business mindset.
