Mechanical Superintendent - Deep Drilling

About the role

The Mechanical Superintendent – Deep Drilling will lead mechanical maintenance activities for deep‑drilling land rigs in Kuwait, ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and optimal performance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance and repair of all rig mechanical systems.
• Develop and execute maintenance strategies, schedules, and preventive/predictive programs.
• Monitor equipment performance, lead troubleshooting, failure analysis, and reliability improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate major overhauls, repairs, and manage critical spare‑parts inventory.
• Support efforts to reduce non‑productive time (NPT).
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards, participate in audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
• Lead and mentor mechanical maintenance teams and contractors, coordinating with rig managers, OEMs, and service providers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 + years of drilling equipment maintenance experience.
• At least 3 years in a supervisory or superintendent role.
• Extensive experience with deep‑drilling land rigs (3000 HP and above).
• Strong knowledge of drilling equipment maintenance and reliability practices.

• CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) usage.
