About the role
The Nonfood Category Manager is responsible for shaping the overall strategy of a non‑food product category, identifying new opportunities, and driving sales to meet defined targets. This role works closely with distributors, vendors, buyers and merchandisers to optimise the category performance.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse data to identify industry and consumer trends.
- Identify and establish long‑term partnerships with direct distributors and sellers.
- Source new suppliers aligned with the category strategy.
- Assist in setting annual budget, sales targets and profit goals for the category.
- Manage price setting while maintaining required margins.
- Monitor and improve category and product performance.
- Develop long‑term growth strategies for the category.
- Create exit strategies for under‑performing products.
- Build trusted relationships with vendors to secure better pricing and service quality.
- Determine product positioning to maximise visibility.
- Collaborate with buyers and merchandisers to expand the product range.
