Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

PKF Kuwait is hiring a Senior Internal Auditor within its Audit department. The role covers the full audit cycle, including risk and control management, and is a permanent position based in Kuwait.

Key responsibilities

• Perform the full audit cycle, covering risk management and control management over operations' effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance with applicable directives and regulations.
• Determine the internal audit scope and develop annual plans.
• Analyze accounting documentation, reports, data and flowcharts, and objectively assess IT and business processes.
• Assess the entity's risks and the effectiveness of its risk management.
• Prepare and present reports on audit results and findings, and document process.
• Act as an independent advisor on validity, legality and goal achievement, and identify gaps in processes.
• Recommend risk mitigation measures and cost savings, and maintain open communication with management and the audit committee.
• Conduct follow-up audits to monitor management's interventions and keep audit records up to date.
• Keep up to date with sector rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an internal auditor, including operation, performance and information technology audits.
• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) from the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
• Knowledge of internal auditing standards, procedures and laws, rules and regulations.
• Additional certifications such as CRMA or CISA are an advantage.

Required skills

• Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software and databases.
• Ability to handle large volumes of data and compile detailed reports.
• Attention to detail, analytical thinking, sound independent judgment and strong communication skills.
