VoIP Engineer (Secret Clearance)

About the role

V2X builds smart solutions that integrate physical and digital infrastructure, from base to battlefield, and is looking for a VoIP/Video Engineer with an in-depth knowledge of voice routing in medium to large infrastructure. The role covers call and video routing, optimization, flow technology, customer service and QoS as referenced to DoD practices, and requires working under intense pressure so that customers get uninterrupted calls. Key responsibilities

• Implement new, existing and future VoIP solutions, including VoSIP, using industry best practice such as Cisco Call Manager and Unified Communications systems.
• Manage and maintain Tier 1 Cisco Call Managers, Presence, Unity servers, Session Border Controllers (SBC), Session Management Edition (SME) and other equipment on all networks.
• Work with Network Operations Centers so VoIP traffic does not interfere with data traffic.
• Provide technical support for voice and video networks, services, upgrades and equipment purchases.
• Monitor capacity, quality and performance of VoIP traffic and perform regular maintenance supporting IAVA vulnerabilities and CCRI compliance.
• Follow engineering best practices in builds, integration, testing and documentation, and ensure compliance with DISA STIGs.
• Track issues and requests in ServiceNow, create and maintain network diagrams, and handle other assigned duties.

Required profile

• Active Secret clearance; host-country visa and driver's license requirements apply.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Computer Science, MIS, IS, Engineering or a related field; one year of related study can substitute one year of education.
• At least five years of administrative or technical experience, and hands-on VoIP experience in medium to large environments.
• Candidates must follow DoD 8570.01M and hold at least one baseline certification and one computing environment certification (e.g., CCNA Security, CCNP Security, CASP+, Security+, CCIE).
• Ability to withstand extreme heat and lift up to 50 lbs; the work is 95% indoors.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers, Microsoft productivity software and email clients.
• Expert troubleshooting of infrastructure equipment and ability to configure systems to DISA STIG policies.
• Ability to assess networking requirements, manage asset documentation and make independent decisions under pressure.
