Demand Planner

About the role

The Demand Planner will manage the demand planning process at both category and item level, ensuring accurate Open-to‑Buy data and timely order placement to maximise sales while maintaining optimal inventory levels.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate monthly stock, sales, margins and intakes by category, ready for business use at the start of each month.
• Facilitate monthly departmental meetings to re‑forecast sales, margins and orders at the category/item level.
• Prepare monthly item‑wise orders considering supplier lead times, transit, promotions, sales history, pricing and seasonality, and align with key stakeholders.
• Analyse forecast vs. actual sales weekly, identify gaps and advise stakeholders on corrective actions.
• Review every Purchase Order before release to assess stock impact and ensure alignment with forecasted orders.
• Alert stakeholders proactively about delayed orders, overstock or stock‑out situations.
• Ensure continuous stock availability for best‑selling and core lines throughout the year.
• Create and share a monthly Forecast Accuracy report comparing sales forecast to actual sales.
• Prioritise shipments and coordinate with the logistics team for timely clearance from ports.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in stock management and sales forecasting, preferably in retail merchandising.
• Bachelor’s degree; MBA is a plus.
• Strong analytical, reasoning and data interpretation abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, ‘can‑do’ attitude.
