Fraud Rule Writer

About the role

Capitex is looking for an experienced Fraud Rule Writer to join its Kuwait team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. You will design, tune and optimise fraud detection rules for digital banking and payment channels, helping protect customers and the organisation from emerging threats while maintaining a smooth customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement and maintain fraud detection rules across digital and payment platforms.
• Monitor rule performance, conduct regular tuning and optimisation to improve detection rates and reduce false positives.
• Analyse fraud trends, attack patterns and emerging threats to proactively enhance rule strategies.
• Collaborate with fraud operations, risk, data analytics and technology teams for effective rule deployment and system integration.
• Perform impact assessments, report on rule changes and support testing, validation and post‑implementation reviews.

Required profile

• Proven experience in fraud rule writing within digital banking, card payments or financial services.
• Strong understanding of payment fraud typologies such as card‑not‑present, account takeover, social engineering and mule activity.
• Hands‑on experience with fraud detection platforms and rule engines (e.g., FICO, Falcon, Actimize, Featurespace, Feedzai).
• Ability to interpret data and translate insights into effective rule logic.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Data Analytics, Computer Science or a related field.

• SQL or comparable querying tools
