Internal Auditor

About the role

The Internal Auditor will join the Office of Internal Audit at American International University (AIU) in Kuwait. Reporting to the Director of Internal Audit, the role provides independent assurance and advisory services that support AIU’s RISE Strategy 2026‑2030, ensuring operational integrity, risk management, and compliance across academic and administrative functions.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the execution of the annual risk‑based Internal Audit Plan.
• Conduct operational, compliance and process audits across academic and administrative departments.
• Perform audit fieldwork including interviews, process walkthroughs, document reviews and testing of internal controls.
• Assess the consistent application of institutional policies, procedures and regulations.
• Identify control weaknesses, operational inefficiencies and compliance gaps.
• Maintain complete and accurate audit working papers in line with professional auditing standards.
• Prepare audit reports, document findings and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor the implementation of corrective actions while preserving independence, objectivity and confidentiality.

Required profile

• Works under the supervision of the Director of Internal Audit.
