Mechanical Technician – Wastewater Treatment Plant

About the role

Veolia is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join the team at its Sulaibiya Waste Water Treatment & Reclamation Plant in Kuwait. Reporting to the Field Engineer (Mechanical), you will ensure the reliable operation of mechanical systems in the ultrafiltration (UF) and reverse osmosis (RO) units.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out preventive maintenance tasks and schedules for all mechanical equipment in the UF/RO facility.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions, diagnose operating defects and perform corrective repairs.
• Assist with plant modification works under the guidance of the Field Engineer.
• Maintain rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, blowers, chemical dosing pumps and gearboxes.
• Execute overhauls, replace seals, couplings, bearings and perform basic alignment.
• Respond to emergency repair requests and coordinate with the Operations team to minimise downtime.
• Document maintenance activities and input data into the CMMS system.
• Maintain tools, ensure good housekeeping and comply with EHS regulations.

Required profile

• Willingness to work on‑call and shift schedules as required.
• Ability to follow detailed maintenance procedures and safety standards.
• Good communication with the Field Engineer and Operations team.

Required skills

• Mechanical preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Troubleshooting of mechanical equipment.
• Experience with rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, blowers, gearboxes).
• Overhaul and spare‑part replacement (seals, couplings, bearings).
• Basic alignment of rotating machinery.
• Use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
