Presales Technical Consultant – Palo Alto Networks Solutions

About the role

The Presales Technical Consultant will act as an on‑site technical resource for Redington Palo Alto Networks, supporting both pre‑sales and post‑sales activities. The role focuses on designing, demonstrating, and deploying Palo Alto Networks security solutions to improve customer satisfaction and service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical presentations, demos, workshops and lead Proof‑of‑Concept (PoC) testing for customers.
• Assist sales teams with solution design, Bill of Quantities, sizing and architecture planning.
• Deploy, configure and optimise Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, routing and security policies on‑site and remotely.
• Troubleshoot operational issues, act as local escalation point and coordinate with Palo Alto TAC when needed.
• Review security posture, identify performance gaps and recommend improvements following best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Engineering or a related field.
• 5‑6 years of hands‑on experience with Palo Alto Networks NGFW solutions.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and customer‑facing skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation and coordination abilities.

Required skills

• Palo Alto NGFW (PA‑Series / VM‑Series) – security policies, NAT, routing, decryption, HA, load balancing, SD‑WAN, IoT security.
• Panorama centralized management, APP‑ID, Content‑ID, Device‑ID, Threat Prevention, WildFire, URL Filtering, DNS Security.
• GlobalProtect VPN (IPSec & SSL), User‑ID, LDAP/AD integration.
• Routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, static routing.
• Experience with Cortex XDR, XSOAR, XSIAM, Prisma SASE (preferred).
