Senior Accountant – Finance & Reporting

About the role

The Senior Accountant supports functional accounting and reporting activities, covering receivables, payables, general ledger, fixed assets, inventory, cash and banking.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit monthly Accounts Receivable aging reports and generate customer statements.
• Prepare provision and management reports to aid financial analysis and decision‑making.
• Calculate, prepare and process commission payments for sales representatives and brokers.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of customer and general ledger accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Resolve customer queries, coordinate with relevant departments, and review motor insurance claim files for accuracy and compliance.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals and adjustments in line with accounting standards.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and schedules, ensuring compliance with IFRS 17 and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing required documentation and explanations.
• Monitor compliance with internal controls, company policies and relevant financial regulations.
• Maintain and update accounting records in insurance accounting systems, ensuring data integrity.

Required profile

• Graduated in Accounting/Commerce with solid accounting knowledge.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Accountant or Senior Accountant, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving and presentation abilities.
• Strong team orientation and communication skills in English (Arabic a plus).

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems.
