Accountant – Construction & Trading Finance

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Accountant to manage the financial operations of both our construction contracting and trading divisions in Kuwait. The role combines project cost accounting with supplier ledger management, ensuring accurate reporting and strict compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate material, labour and equipment costs to project codes and monitor job profitability.
• Prepare and submit progress billings based on milestones and percentage‑of‑completion calculations.
• Review subcontractor contracts, verify completion certificates and process retention and payments.
• Analyse budget variances and flag cost overruns to project managers.
• Maintain accounts payable and receivable for local and international trade partners.
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and cash‑flow reports.
• Perform bank reconciliations, inter‑company adjustments and month‑end/year‑end closings.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for external auditors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a dual trading and construction environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills to work with project managers, procurement and executives.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Tally or QuickBooks.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data modelling).
