Finance Manager – Retail

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead the complete finance function of a retail company operating in the furniture and home sector in Kuwait. The role combines strong financial control with commercial insight to support profitable growth and works closely with senior management, retail operations and purchasing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all finance operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, cash management, payroll and month‑end closing.
• Prepare accurate monthly and annual financial statements, management reports and performance analysis in accordance with IFRS.
• Own the annual budget, forecasts and variance analysis, providing clear explanations and corrective recommendations.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, banking relationships, letters of credit and bank guarantees.
• Monitor sales, gross margin, inventory levels, stock ageing, inventory valuation and cost of goods sold.
• Collaborate with purchasing and operations on supplier terms, landed costs, pricing, margins and inventory planning.
• Analyse profitability by store, product/category and business segment to identify margin improvement opportunities.
• Strengthen financial controls covering inventory, purchasing, payments, collections and discounts.
• Coordinate annual audits and maintain relationships with external auditors and banks.
• Ensure compliance with Kuwait regulatory and tax requirements and improve finance processes using ERP systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA or CMA) preferred.
• 7–12 years of finance and accounting experience, preferably in retail, furniture or other inventory‑intensive businesses.
• Strong practical understanding of inventory accounting, costing, gross margins and working capital.
• Good knowledge of IFRS, financial controls, budgeting and management reporting.
• Hands‑on experience with Odoo or another established ERP system.
• Advanced Excel and strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent English communication skills; Arabic is an advantage.
• Comfortable working in a hands‑on operating environment.
