Aircraft Arresting System Technician / Power Generation

About the role

V2X is seeking a skilled technician to operate and maintain power generation and aircraft arresting systems. The role supports catapults, arresting gear, and related mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems used in aircraft take‑off and landing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, remove, and operate electrical power generating and control systems, automatic transfer switches, and aircraft arresting equipment.
• Check equipment for serviceability and compliance with publications, policies, and directives.
• Position, install, rewind, and pretension aircraft arresting systems; certify them as required.
• Inspect, test, and service component systems such as safety, fuel, lubrication, cooling, air pressure, pumps, regulators, and governors.
• Observe and interpret instrument readings (ammeters, voltmeters, frequency meters, synchro scopes, temperature and pressure recorders, engine oil, fuel, and coolant gauges).
• Adjust and synchronize diesel generators to maintain proper voltage, current, frequency, and synchronization.
• Operate high‑ and low‑voltage switches, circuit breakers, rheostats, and other controls on switchgear and distribution panels.
• Maintain logs of aircraft launches, recoveries, and equipment maintenance; activate arresting systems during emergency landings.

Required profile

• Ability to install, operate, inspect, and repair electrical power generation and aircraft arresting systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and instrument panels.
• Capability to work with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical test equipment and hand tools.
• Attention to safety procedures and documentation requirements.
