About the role
The Cashier ensures a smooth and efficient checkout experience, accurately processing customer transactions and handling cash and electronic payments while maintaining a welcoming environment.
Key responsibilities
- Greet customers, scan and bag items, and process payments via cash, card or mobile methods.
- Handle cash responsibly, provide correct change, balance the drawer, and report barcode discrepancies.
- Maintain knowledge of store products, pricing, and promotions to assist shoppers.
- Address inquiries, resolve complaints, and keep the checkout area clean and organized.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of retail experience, especially with grocery products.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work flexible shifts in a fast‑paced environment.
Required skills
- Proficiency with POS systems and payment processing.
- Accurate cash handling and attention to detail.
