Chef De Partie - Pastry

About the role

Jumeirah Messilah Beach, a luxury beachfront resort in Kuwait, is hiring a Chef de Partie for its Pastry Kitchen. The role sits within the culinary team and supports the kitchen's standards of food quality, hygiene and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Assist colleagues and support the Culinary teams where required, helping build team spirit, credibility, respect, openness and trust.
• Report accidents and sickness immediately to the Chef de Cuisine with clear details, and ask for help before any breakdown occurs.
• Relay breakdown information immediately so the root cause can be identified and reoccurrences avoided.
• Adhere to the company's policies on safety procedures, food hygiene and safe food handling, and to culinary standards for recipes, preparation and plating.
• Liaise with the Stewarding Manager to keep the kitchen clean, and communicate equipment malfunctions to the Chef de Cuisine so engineering can respond.
• Follow all control and key procedures, and adhere to set-up times and breakdowns for each meal period or event.
• Order, receive and store quality ingredients correctly using FIFO rotation, and prepare them according to recipes, plating guides and buffet set-ups while maximising production time and minimising waste.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of culinary experience in a five-star hotel.
• Solid international culinary experience; knowledge of the style of cuisine.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• HACCP knowledge.
• General health and safety awareness in the workplace.
