Commis 1 - Main Kitchen

About the role

Jumeirah Messilah Beach, a beachfront resort in Kuwait with 316 rooms and suites, 79 residential suites and 10 villas, is hiring a Commis 1 for its Main Kitchen. The role supports the culinary team and contributes to the quality and standards of the hotel's food and beverage operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the culinary teams in building team spirit, credibility, respect, openness and trust.
• Report accidents, sickness or equipment malfunctions immediately to the Chef de Cuisine with clear details.
• Maintain and keep clean kitchen equipment and areas, coordinating with the Stewarding Manager.
• Follow company policies on safety procedures, food hygiene and safe food handling.
• Ensure ingredients are ordered, received, stored and prepared to standard, minimising waste and supporting financial goals.
• Develop "Chef's Creations" that fit the restaurant's concept and help build a personal culinary style.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of culinary experience in a five-star hotel.
• Solid international culinary experience.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the style of cuisine.
• Knowledge of HACCP and general health and safety in the workplace.
