CNC Machinist

About the role

The Special Works Division is looking for a CNC Machinist in East Ahmadi, Kuwait, to manufacture and restore precision components for industrial equipment. The machinist sets up and operates CNC machines, reads engineering drawings and produces parts that meet specified dimensions, tolerances and surface finishes. The position is full-time and requires at least 3 years of experience.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and/or milling machines according to assigned work.
• Interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, material specifications and machining instructions.
• Prepare or edit CNC programs within authorised competence.
• Select cutting tools, workholding, speeds, feeds and machining sequences.
• Establish work and tool offsets and verify setups before production.
• Inspect first pieces and in-process work with precision measuring instruments.
• Adjust machining parameters to maintain quality and control tool wear.
• Machine new components and support the restoration of existing industrial parts.
• Maintain production records, tooling and routine machine care, following safe work-holding, guarding, lifting and machine operating procedures.

Required profile

• ITI, diploma or equivalent in Machining, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 3 years of hands-on CNC machining experience.
• Practical experience setting up and operating CNC turning and/or milling equipment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and geometric and dimensional tolerances.
• Experience machining components for pumps, valves, hydraulics or industrial machinery is preferred.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of CNC programming and machine controls.
• Proficiency with micrometers, vernier calipers, bore gauges and dial indicators.
• CAM programming experience is an advantage.
