Industrial Welder - Repair and Fabrication

About the role

The Special Works Division is looking for an experienced welder to support industrial repair, maintenance and fabrication work in its workshop and at customer sites. The welder prepares, fits and welds components according to drawings, approved welding procedures and job specifications. The position is full-time and based in East Ahmadi, Kuwait.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out welding and fabrication of industrial components, supports, frames and assemblies.
• Perform the welding processes required, such as SMAW, GTAW/TIG or GMAW/MIG.
• Read drawings and follow applicable welding procedure specifications.
• Prepare joints by cutting, grinding, beveling, cleaning and fit-up.
• Select and handle welding consumables in line with approved procedures.
• Control heat input, distortion and weld quality during fabrication and repair.
• Inspect completed welds visually and support required quality inspections.
• Carry out weld repairs only within approved repair instructions and qualifications.
• Follow hot-work permits, isolation requirements and safety procedures.
• Maintain welding equipment, tools and job records.

Required profile

• ITI, trade certificate or equivalent practical qualification in welding or fabrication.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant industrial welding experience.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings and follow welding procedures.
• Experience with carbon steel and stainless steel; other materials are an advantage.
• Relevant welder qualification certificates are preferred; candidates must pass the required practical assessment.
• Experience in industrial maintenance, equipment repair or oil and gas services is preferred.
