Consultant - Geophysicist (Exploration and Production)

About the role

Anton, an integrated oil and gas value-added management services company headquartered in Dubai, is hiring a Consultant Geophysicist for its On-sync Energy Management Services Company in Kuwait. The role provides technical guidance and supervision to geophysicists and leads exploration and appraisal studies using modern geophysical methods.

Key responsibilities

• Advise geophysicists on technical assignments and exploration projects, ensuring appropriate methods, procedures and priorities.
• Lead exploration and appraisal studies, recommend well locations, and plan detailed geophysical studies with analytical and digital geophysical techniques.
• Use industry-standard geophysical software independently and guide team members in its application.
• Review studies, reports and interpretations for technical accuracy and completeness.
• Generate and interpret geophysical data for basin analysis, including seismic sections, structural and stratigraphic maps and integrated subsurface interpretations.
• Integrate geological and geophysical data to evaluate basin evolution, paleostructures, paleogeography, depositional environments, facies and tectonic history.
• Support regional stratigraphic frameworks, trap identification, exploration plays and new drillable prospects.
• Develop exploration strategies, feasibility studies and exploration planning, budgeting, scheduling and prioritization; assess hydrocarbon potential of prospects and underdeveloped reservoirs.
• Prepare specialized geophysical reports, maintain technical records and lead multidisciplinary teams of geologists, geochemists, petroleum engineers and reservoir engineers.
• Mentor geophysical personnel and improve exploration workflows.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Geophysics, Geology, Exploration Geology, Geoscience or a related discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of professional Exploration & Production geophysics experience.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple technical projects.
• International experience with major or independent E&P companies preferred.
• Experience with Triassic and Paleozoic formations is an advantage.

Required skills

• Seismic acquisition, processing, interpretation and seismic reservoir characterization.
• Strong proficiency in industry-standard geophysical software.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication and decision-making skills.
