Contracts Expert

About the role

Surbana Jurong is seeking an experienced Contracts Expert to lead commercial and contractual management for major infrastructure and construction projects. The role involves providing expert guidance on contract administration, cost control, variations, claims, and compliance to ensure successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Administer construction contracts and advise project leadership on commercial, contractual, and risk matters.
• Review contractors’ submissions, invoices, and payment applications for accuracy and contract compliance.
• Evaluate variations and change proposals, prepare contract amendments and related documentation.
• Assess contractor claims and notices, recommending entitlement, time impacts, and cost implications.
• Carry out measurements, valuations, and cost‑control activities, delivering accurate commercial reporting.
• Maintain contractual records, correspondence registers, and commercial documentation for governance.
• Provide guidance on dispute avoidance, contract interpretation, and risk mitigation.
• Support project close‑out, final account settlement, and contract handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in contract administration, quantity surveying, commercial management or construction contract delivery on major projects.
• Proven track record in a consultancy environment and ability to build trusted relationships.
