Cost Control Engineer

About the role

Al-Jazirah Industrial Projects (JIP), an engineering and construction company in Kuwait working on oil and gas, industrial and commercial projects, is hiring a full-time, on-site Cost Control Engineer in Ahmadi. The engineer monitors project budgets, tracks expenditures and keeps them aligned with approved cost baselines across several engineering and construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and update cost reports, analyze variances and forecast project costs
• Support project managers with financial data for decision-making
• Coordinate with project control, procurement and site teams to validate cost data and review contractor invoices
• Assist in change management and claims analysis
• Contribute to improving cost control procedures and ensure compliance with company standards and client requirements
• Prepare periodic management reports and dashboards

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance or a related field; oil and gas or industrial project background preferred
• Experience preparing, reviewing and presenting cost reporting for engineering and construction projects
• Knowledge of project control practices: budgeting, forecasting, progress measurement and change control
• Previous on-site experience in EPC or contracting companies in Kuwait or the GCC is beneficial

Required skills

• Proficiency with cost control and project management software (Excel, ERP systems, Primavera or MS Project)
• Analytical skills, strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail with large data sets
• Effective communication and teamwork in multidisciplinary, multicultural settings
• Understanding of ISO management systems and HSE practices is an advantage
