Technical Assistant (Carpenter)

About the role

Al-Yasra Group is looking for a skilled Technical Assistant (Carpenter) to join its Projects & Property team in the retail fashion industry. You will keep the stores in excellent condition and deliver carpentry work that reflects the brand, working with internal teams, vendors and contractors in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carpentry repairs, installations and maintenance of doors, cabinets, shelves, furniture and display fixtures
• Measure, cut, assemble and install wooden materials to specification
• Inspect, identify defects and recommend repair or replacement
• Assist with store construction and renovation projects, from planning and material procurement to implementation
• Work with the design team on store layouts and custom carpentry matching brand standards
• Order and manage carpentry materials and tools cost-effectively
• Coordinate with store managers, project managers, vendors and contractors
• Follow work orders, support general maintenance and comply with health and safety procedures and PPE requirements
• Minimise disruption to customers while working in stores

Required profile

• High school diploma; a vocational qualification in carpentry is preferred
• Several years of carpentry, woodworking or building maintenance experience, ideally in retail or commercial projects
• Able to read work instructions and technical drawings
• Relevant carpentry or contractor's licence, if required by local law
