About the role

The Dean of the School of Architecture & Design will serve as the chief academic officer, providing strategic vision and operational leadership for the school’s architecture, interior design, and graphic design programmes. Reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean will champion teaching excellence, research, and community engagement while advancing diversity and industry relevance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and management for the School, overseeing full‑time and adjunct faculty, academic programmes, and administrative operations.
• Oversee curriculum development, course scheduling, program assessment, and continuous improvement for Architecture, Interior Design, and Graphic Design.
• Manage the School’s budget, resource allocation, and strategic planning.
• Drive faculty recruitment, mentoring, performance review, and professional development.
• Promote a culture of research and scholarship, supporting faculty and student research activities.
• Maintain and engage the Industry Advisory Committee to align programmes with industry needs and emerging trends.
• Lead accreditation, assessment, and quality‑assurance activities, familiar with American higher‑education accreditation frameworks.
• Ensure accurate public communications and website content reflecting programmes, achievements, and opportunities.
• Foster industry and community partnerships, internships, and experiential learning.

Required profile

• Proven senior academic leadership experience, preferably in architecture, design or related disciplines.
• Demonstrated success in curriculum development, programme assessment, and accreditation processes.
• Strong record of faculty mentorship, recruitment, and professional development.
• Experience building industry partnerships and advisory committees.
• Commitment to diversity, research excellence, and community engagement.
