Deputy Director – Safety, Standards, Quality & Environment

About the role

The Deputy Director will lead the implementation of an Integrated Management System (IMS) for safety, quality and environmental assurance within NATS' operations in Kuwait. This senior position provides independent oversight, drives continuous improvement and ensures compliance with regulatory certifications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategy for independent safety, quality and environmental assurance, including investigations and escalation to the Delivery Director.
• Build safety, quality and environmental capabilities and leadership across the operation.
• Promote continuous improvement by applying lessons learned and industry best practices.
• Prepare and manage actions required for ISO 9001, ISO 10002 and ISO 14001 certifications.
• Provide oversight of all operational functions related to the IMS, including training.
• Ensure IMS performance meets regulatory requirements and develop performance indicators.
• Report IMS performance to external customers and regulators.
• Facilitate change‑management processes to meet operational needs.
• Foster a competent, engaged and motivated workforce aligned with delivery outcomes.
• Participate as an integral member of the on‑site NATS leadership team and substitute for other leaders as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of operational experience in a safety leadership role.
• Degree level education or equivalent preferred.
• Proven, credible leadership in a customer‑focused, dynamic environment.
• Ability to lead through uncertainty and adapt to changing requirements.
