Engineering Technician III – DC/Low Frequency

About the role

The Engineering Technician III supports the Kuwait Air Force (KAF) by providing training, technical advice, and hands‑on service for a wide range of precision measurement equipment used in DC and low‑frequency applications. The role combines laboratory operations, equipment calibration, and mentorship to ensure accurate metrology support for mission‑critical activities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑the‑job and classroom training for repair, calibration, and modification of complex measurement instruments.
• Provide technical and procedural guidance to KAF and other government personnel on metrology matters.
• Perform precision measurements, calibrations, modifications, maintenance, and repairs across voltage, current, power, resistance, capacitance, inductance, time and frequency (≤ 500 MHz) domains.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment such as signal generators, oscilloscopes, digital/analog voltmeters, ammeters, watt meters, electronic counters, pulse generators, bridges, and automated test systems.
• Assist in obtaining and sustaining laboratory QA accreditation.
• Execute tasking priorities set by the Commander, KAFMB, and coordinate with the contractor lead.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in electronics technology + 10 years of experience operating, maintaining, and calibrating precision measurement equipment, **or** completion of a U.S. military precision‑measurement program + 12 years of relevant experience.
• Solid understanding of basic electricity, electronics, circuit theory, digital logic, algebra, and physics.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot TMDE and measurement standards at the component level.
• Hands‑on electronic construction and repair skills, including soldering and delicate wiring.
