Estimation Engineer (Mechanical) - Oil & Gas

About the role

Combined Group Contracting Company (K.S.C.C) is looking for an Estimation Engineer (Mechanical) in Kuwait. The main purpose of the role is to review draft tender and project documents so that technical and commercial bids can be prepared for the Company's projects.

Key responsibilities

• Review draft tender documents to make sure all systems and components of the tender are included.
• Prepare queries to consultants and clients to confirm and collect missing data such as shipping costs, insurance and regional requirements.
• Prepare reports and supporting documents for the Proposal Coordinator to highlight areas needing more information and help secure bids.
• Develop tender cost summaries, including equipment, materials and labour calculations, for final approval.
• Interpret and review system drawings to spot differences from tender requirements and raise queries against the specification.
• Review and generate Bills of Quantities from system drawings, identify material types and quantities, and prepare equipment lists and rough drawings for cost estimation.
• Follow Company tendering procedures, including relevant discipline codes and standards.
• Prepare specification documents for vendor quotations and evaluate them against tender specifications.
• Liaise with internal customers, suppliers and vendors on quantities, costs and specifications, and manage daily correspondence.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5 to 6 years of related work experience as a Discipline Engineer or Trades Person.
• Knowledge of tendering procedures, general PC applications, report preparation, data analysis and tender review.
• Communication and interpersonal skills.
