Rigger - Lifting Operations

About the role

APEX Group International, a privately owned Kuwaiti firm based in the Shuhaiba Industrial area with its head office in Fahaheel, supports construction, logistics and industrial operations and maintenance. It is hiring a Rigger to support lifting and material-handling activities at the Al Fahahil work location. The role suits a practical, safety-focused worker who can coordinate closely with site teams and perform physical duties in an industrial or construction environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and inspect slings, shackles, chains, wire ropes and other rigging gear before use.
• Determine rigging arrangements and securely attach loads in line with lifting plans and equipment limits.
• Communicate clearly with crane operators and lift supervisors using agreed hand signals or radio protocols.
• Guide loads during lifting and positioning, keeping safe exclusion zones and awareness of nearby personnel and hazards.
• Check load balance, attachment points and movement paths; stop work and report unsafe conditions or damaged equipment.
• Follow site lifting procedures, permit requirements and health, safety and environmental rules.
• Maintain inspection records and keep rigging equipment organised and stored properly.

Required profile

• Practical experience selecting and using rigging gear for lifting and load movement.
• Ability to assess load weight, balance, centre of gravity and attachment points, and to choose suitable sling configurations.
• Knowledge of sling angles, working load limits, equipment capacity and safe load-control practices.
• Competence inspecting rigging equipment and identifying wear, defects or damage.
• Clear communication with crane operators and lift teams through standard hand signals and radio procedures.
• Strong hazard awareness, attention to detail and willingness to stop unsafe lifting operations.
• Ability to follow lift plans, site procedures, permit controls and PPE requirements.
• Physical capability to handle rigging equipment and work outdoors or in industrial site conditions.
• Reliable teamwork and accurate reporting of inspections and safety concerns.
