Facilities Supervisor

About the role

The Facilities Supervisor supports daily operations of the university's facilities department, overseeing maintenance activities and special projects to meet departmental objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise facilities technicians in day‑to‑day building maintenance, minor alterations, and asset repairs.
• Collaborate with the Manager to set work priorities and maintain an up‑to‑date record of maintenance items.
• Ensure essential repair and maintenance supplies are stocked and schedule regular site inspections.
• Handle purchasing of materials, obtain quotations, and manage budget and petty‑cash expenditures.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors, respond to emergency calls promptly, and undertake other related duties as required.

Required profile

• Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to supervise a team.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and time‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Supervisory experience in facilities or maintenance environments.
• Knowledge of procurement processes and budgeting.
• Familiarity with building maintenance standards and safety regulations.
