Firefighter - Kuwait

About the role

V2X supports its client WEXMAC in Kuwait with a Firefighter position. The firefighter reports to the Fire Officer and responds to multiple types of emergencies, keeping vehicles, equipment, tools and protective clothing serviceable. Candidates must live in Kuwait and be authorized to work there.

Key responsibilities

• Extinguish fires, prevent rekindling and protect and preserve evidence of the cause of a fire
• Operate pumps, foam generators, turrets, nozzles and other firefighting equipment
• Conduct and take part in proficiency training, on-the-job training and maintain required certifications
• Ensure emergency equipment is ready according to NFPA or other industry standards, and keep it clean
• Carry out fire inspections, pre-incident planning and record safety documentation
• Operate digital fire alarm receiving equipment and two-way radios
• Perform property control and logistical duties such as equipment accountability, maintenance scheduling and subordinate appointment coordination
• Serve on rescue units, ladder trucks, engine companies, water tenders or airport ARFF apparatus
• Enter burning or contaminated structures and hazardous areas to fight fires and perform rescues, and act as a crew member for structural fires, aircraft fires, medical emergencies and hazardous materials responses
• Track data supporting organizational and WEXMAC metrics, attend meetings in the supervisor's absence and communicate professionally orally and in writing

Required profile

• Minimum one year of experience as a Firefighter; experience on a DOD installation preferred
• Must pass the annual firefighter Occupational Health Exam and SCBA fit testing per NFPA 1582 and 1583, and meet position certifications per DoD Manual 6055.06
• Valid home country license with at least one year validity and a passport with at least two years validity
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Available for recall and able to work outdoors in extreme heat and dust storms, in hazardous environments and in all weather
• Physical strength to perform strenuous tasks while wearing bulky protective gear, including climbing ladders
