Fresh Food Department Head

About the role

The Fresh Food Department Head will lead the fresh food area of a hypermarket in Kuwait, ensuring high quality, variety and freshness of products to attract and satisfy customers. This senior position coordinates merchandising, sales, and service teams to drive commercial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute store strategies to meet sales, profit and growth targets.
• Manage pricing, promotions and assortment to enhance commercial results.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to maintain a strong market position.
• Oversee inventory, stock availability, ordering and warehouse operations.
• Implement initiatives that improve product freshness, reduce shrinkage and minimise waste.
• Maintain high standards of customer service, merchandising, store presentation and pricing accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, security, health and safety regulations.
• Lead, coach and develop store teams through performance management, training and succession planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Commerce or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of retail operations experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong understanding of retail operations, inventory management, merchandising and commercial practices.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage stakeholders.

• Effective time‑management, organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
