Full-time English Foundation Program Instructor

About the role

American International University (AIU) seeks a full‑time English Foundation Program Instructor for the 2026–2027 academic year. The position is based in Kuwait and requires relocation. The instructor will deliver high‑quality English language instruction within an outcomes‑driven foundation program that prepares students for undergraduate study.

Key responsibilities

• Teach integrated language skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking) aligned with CEFR levels.
• Plan and deliver structured lessons that meet established course outcomes and program standards.
• Apply evidence‑based, scholarly‑informed teaching approaches and active learning strategies.
• Conduct frequent formative learning checks to monitor student progress.
• Develop and support common program‑level assessments and end‑of‑term evaluations.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student engagement using Canvas.
• Provide office hours, targeted academic support, and early intervention for at‑risk students.
• Deliver instruction in both in‑person and remote formats, utilizing Microsoft Teams as needed.

Required profile

• Demonstrated scholarly‑informed teaching experience in English language instruction.
• Commitment to student progression and success within a structured, multi‑section environment.
• Ability to adhere to common syllabi, pacing structures, and assessment frameworks.
• Strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate student records and attendance.
• Willingness to relocate to Kuwait and work onsite.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Canvas learning management system.
• Experience using Microsoft Teams for communication and instructional continuity.
