General Manager - Motor Insurance Brokerage

About the role

An established motor insurance brokerage operating in the automotive sector is looking for an experienced, commercially driven General Manager to lead its overall operations, strategy and profitability. The successful candidate will grow business across new and used vehicle insurance, renewals and fleet portfolios, and strengthen ties with automotive dealerships and insurance providers. The role is open only to Kuwaiti nationals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and run business strategies for revenue, profitability and market share, and lead annual planning, budgeting and performance
• Own the brokerage's P&L and financial targets, and monitor revenue, commissions, costs and profitability
• Build relationships with dealerships and work with vehicle sales, finance and aftersales to raise insurance penetration and conversion
• Manage the motor insurance portfolio (new business, renewals, endorsements, claims support) and relationships with insurers
• Grow individual and corporate fleet insurance and improve renewal rates and customer retention
• Run sales, operations, renewals and customer service teams, set KPIs and plan succession
• Keep operations compliant, introduce process and digital improvements, and report regularly to senior management and shareholders

Required profile

• Kuwaiti nationality only
• 10-15 years in insurance, insurance brokerage or automotive financial services
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Finance, Marketing or a related field; MBA or professional insurance qualification an advantage
• At least 5 years in a senior management role with direct P&L responsibility
• IRU certification required
• Strong background in motor insurance operations, renewals and customer retention, and experience with insurance companies and dealerships
• Previous experience in dealership-affiliated brokerage highly preferred
