Head of Fresh Food Department – Retail

About the role

The Fresh Food Department Head will lead the fresh food offering at a major hypermarket in Kuwait, ensuring high quality, variety and freshness to attract and satisfy customers. This senior position bridges merchandising, sales and operational teams to drive commercial success.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute store strategies to meet sales, profit and growth targets.
• Manage pricing, promotions and assortment to stay competitive.
• Oversee inventory, ordering, stock availability and warehouse processes.
• Implement initiatives that improve product freshness, reduce shrinkage and minimise waste.
• Maintain high standards of customer service, merchandising, store presentation and pricing accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety, security and operational procedures.
• Lead, coach and develop store teams through performance management and training.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Commerce or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of retail operations experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong understanding of retail operations, inventory management, merchandising and commercial practices.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with a customer‑focused mindset.
• Effective time‑management, organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
