HV Gas Insulated Switchgear Specialist (Kuwait)

About the role

The HV Gas Insulated Switchgear Specialist will lead a team of technicians in installing, testing, and maintaining high‑voltage gas insulated switchgear (GIS) systems. This position ensures the reliability and safety of critical energy infrastructure, supporting Siemens Energy’s mission to drive the energy transition.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preventive maintenance and emergency repairs of 132 kV and 300 kV HV GIS systems.
• Oversee major overhauls of hydraulic and SF6 systems for HV GIS.
• Manage the installation of high‑voltage gas insulated switchgear.
• Conduct site investigations, fault detection, and repair/restoration works.
• Handle SF6 gas machinery, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Prepare test protocols, method statements, and support project scheduling.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience with installation, testing, and maintenance of HV/MV GIS systems.
• Detailed knowledge of Siemens/Siemens Energy HV equipment and SF6 systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Commitment to EHS compliance and risk assessment.
• Proficiency in technical report writing and MS Office suite.
