IELTS/PTE English Teacher

About the role

A full-time Languages Teacher position in Salmiya, Kuwait, focused on preparing students for IELTS, SELT, ESOL and PTE English proficiency exams. The teacher covers test-taking strategies, improves language skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking) and runs mock tests.

Key responsibilities

• Teach English language skills, focusing on exam preparation for IELTS, PTE and SELT, as well as general English language courses.
• Develop structured lesson plans covering listening, reading, writing and speaking aligned with standardized test requirements.
• Use engaging teaching methods to improve student performance on language proficiency tests.
• Conduct mock exams, give detailed feedback and track student progress toward target scores.
• Adapt pedagogical strategies to different learning styles.
• Stay up to date with changes in IELTS, PTE and SELT exam formats and apply best practices in lessons.
• Guide students on exam techniques, time management and test-taking strategies.
• Take part in faculty development, curriculum design and institutional projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in English, Linguistics, Education or a related field.
• Native or near-native English proficiency with strong command of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation.
• Verifiable experience and proven success teaching IELTS, PTE and SELT preparation courses.

• Ability to explain complex language concepts clearly and adapt teaching to different proficiency levels.
