Lead Engineer – Automation Solutions

About the role

Emerson is seeking a Lead Engineer for its Automation Solutions division. The role is part of the Process System and Solution group and will act as the Project/Site Lead on various automation projects, ensuring successful delivery from design through commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop engineering deliverables including Functional Design Specifications, System Design Specifications, Test Specifications, software coding, hardware design, assembly, unit testing and third‑party supply.
• Review design inputs, project specifications and prepare compliance tables.
• Procure materials on schedule, coordinate with vendors and approve technical quotations.
• Support engineering and back‑office teams to deliver project documentation and meet bid timelines.
• Configure hardware/software solutions, lead PreFAT and FAT activities, and ensure OT cybersecurity compliance.
• Manage project resources, schedule and budget, providing on‑site and off‑site technical support.
• Identify scope gaps, handle change orders and maintain adherence to Emerson quality standards.
• Provide customer site support for start‑up, commissioning and sales activities while following health, safety and environment policies.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead engineering functions and ensure efficient project execution.
• Experience reviewing design inputs, delivering design documents and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a proactive approach.
• Effective communication with customers and internal stakeholders to drive productivity and meet schedules.
