Lead HSE Engineer – Oil & Gas Project

About the role

KBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions group is seeking a Lead HSE Engineer to support the Health, Safety and Environment function on a major PMC project with Kuwait Oil Company. The role ensures compliance with KOC safety policies, local legislation, and international standards while driving continuous improvement of the project HSE Management System.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and advise EPC contractors on HSE Management System compliance.
• Develop, implement and maintain the project-specific Risk Management Plan.
• Oversee subcontractor selection processes to meet KOC expectations.
• Maintain statistical HSE data, generate reports and highlight trends for corrective actions.
• Ensure alignment with Kuwait legislative requirements and disseminate updates to all stakeholders.
• Review and recommend changes to EPC contractors' Safety Management Systems.
• Foster professional relationships with KOC, regulatory bodies and EPC contractors.
• Conduct regular site visits to verify HSE practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years post‑graduation experience, including at least 8 years in Oil & Gas.
• At least 5 years in a Lead HSE Engineer role.
• Hands‑on experience with design, construction, commissioning and maintenance of oil/gas installations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• NEBOSH certification.
• ICertOSH certification.
• ASSE Certificate in Global Safety Management (or equivalent).
