About the role
Amentum is seeking qualified Malayalam linguists to support U.S. military operations in Kuwait. This position provides language and cultural expertise to senior leadership and intelligence customers on an as‑needed basis.
Key responsibilities
- Provide operational linguist support for military operations, including interpretation during interviews, meetings, and conferences.
- Transcribe, analyze, and translate verbal communications and foreign language documents.
- Supply cultural perspective on historical, political, sociological, and economic trends of the region.
Required profile
- U.S. citizenship with a current passport.
- ILR Level 3 proficiency in Malayalam and Level 2+ in English (oral and written).
- Willingness to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance.
- Ability to work in Kuwait, including shifts and extended hours for 24/7 operations.
- Familiarity with local culture and customs; ability to undergo a medical examination.
Required skills
- Professional fluency in Malayalam and English.
- Experience interpreting and translating spoken and written material.
