Materials Engineer

About the role

Penspen is seeking an experienced Materials Engineer to join its team in Al‑Kuwait. The role focuses on ensuring material quality and compliance throughout the design, construction, and commissioning phases of oil & gas projects.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and verify contractor requisitions, work packages, risk and method statements to optimise processes.
• Witness and confirm compliance with design specifications and QHSE standards during construction.
• Provide on‑the‑job training to client counterparts.
• Oversee sampling and testing of soil, asphalt, concrete and other materials.
• Monitor laboratory tests on raw materials and finished products to guarantee quality.
• Act as liaison between client and contractor, reporting to the Resident Engineer.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of materials management experience in the oil & gas industry.
• 2–5 years of experience in design and construction of on‑shore plants.
• Familiarity with industry standard codes and construction practices.
• Located in Al‑Kuwait or willing to relocate.

Required skills

• Materials testing (soil, asphalt, concrete).
• Quality assurance and QHSE compliance.
• Contractor coordination and documentation review.
