Mechanical Superintendent – Maintenance & Drilling Rigs

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to lead maintenance activities for land‑based drilling rigs and associated equipment in Kuwait. The role ensures the technical integrity of rig hulls, tanks and mechanical systems, driving reliability and safety on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Preventive Maintenance System (PMS) and oversee all mechanical maintenance on drilling rigs.
• Plan and execute regular inspections, preventive maintenance and timely repairs of mechanical equipment.
• Conduct CAT III and CAT IV overhauls, coordinate OEM support and certify equipment according to contract schedules.
• Supervise modifications, large overhauls and ensure compliance with class rules, industry standards and company policies.
• Review and approve work orders, maintain accurate reporting and propose improvements to the PMS.
• Support rig operations by troubleshooting mechanical issues to avoid shutdowns.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, with at least 10 years in a Mechanical Superintendent or Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor role on drilling rigs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience with PMS/maintenance management software.
• Strong knowledge of class regulations, industry standards and preventive maintenance techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and blueprints.
