Music Teacher (Primary School)

About the role

EPG is looking for a full-time Music Teacher to work at one of its primary schools in Kuwait. The teacher inspires and engages young learners aged 5-11 through dynamic, age-appropriate lessons, delivering a well-rounded music curriculum that supports musical, cognitive and social development in line with the British curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging music lessons adapted to the needs of young learners
• Introduce students to basic music theory, rhythm, instruments, singing and movement
• Encourage creativity through composition, improvisation and performance activities
• Organise and lead school musical performances, assemblies and seasonal events
• Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and other specialists such as Art and PE on cross-curricular projects
• Maintain records of student progress and contribute to reports and parent meetings
• Care for music equipment and instruments
• Take part in school events, staff meetings, CPD and training sessions

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Education or a related field (required)
• PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in a primary or early years setting; international or British curriculum experience is a plus
• Strong instrumental and/or vocal skills
• Familiarity with classroom management strategies for young learners
• Passion for teaching music and working with children, creativity, enthusiasm and patience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and willingness to join the school community
