Operations Superintendent – Deep Drilling Land Rigs

About the role

The Operations Superintendent will lead the safe, efficient and cost‑effective execution of 3000 HP deep drilling land rigs in Kuwait. This senior position ensures compliance with client requirements, company policies and local regulations while driving performance improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day performance of assigned deep drilling rigs, including start‑up, mobilization, commissioning and demobilization.
• Monitor rig performance, reduce non‑productive time (NPT) and implement efficiency initiatives.
• Promote a strong HSE culture, enforce well‑control procedures and lead incident investigations.
• Oversee HPHT drilling operations, ensuring equipment suitability and operational integrity.
• Serve as primary operational interface with clients, attend daily meetings and provide performance reporting.
• Lead and coach Rig Managers, Toolpushers and field supervisors, fostering multicultural teamwork.
• Track operational costs, support budgeting, cost‑control and KPI analysis.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Logistics, Procurement, HSE and Engineering to guarantee resource availability.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in deep‑drilling or HPHT land‑rig environments.
• Strong knowledge of HSE standards, well‑control and operational risk management.
• Excellent client‑facing skills with a track record of maintaining strong relationships.
• Ability to analyse performance data, drive cost‑efficiency and manage budgets.
• Experience leading multicultural teams and conducting operational audits.
