Product Officer – Retail Lending (Kuwait)

About the role

The Product Officer will lead the development and management of retail lending products in Kuwait, ensuring they meet customer needs, regulatory requirements, and profitability targets. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to shape product strategy, pricing, and performance monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Develop an in‑depth view of the competitive market for retail lending products and define customer needs.
• Create metrics on application, acceptance, take‑up and churn rates to support strategic decisions.
• Optimize pricing of charges and interest rates within CBK regulations to enhance profitability.
• Build business cases for Consumer Loans, Sales Finance, Vehicle Finance and Business Banking products.
• Maintain policy and procedure manuals and update product specifications on intranet and internet.
• Define long‑term lending strategies and design innovative loan products in compliance with regulations.
• Monitor product performance, analyse market trends and forecast attrition.
• Design and evaluate promotional campaigns using MIS data.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Risk, Digital, Compliance and Credit Risk teams on communication plans, system enhancements and regulatory updates.
• Provide branches and sales channels with product knowledge and tools.
• Track competitors’ activities and recommend new initiatives.
• Evaluate and approve loan applications against eligibility criteria.

Required profile

• Experience in retail lending product management or a related banking function.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret market data and performance metrics.
• Knowledge of Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) regulations and compliance processes.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively across Marketing, Risk, Digital and Compliance teams.
