Rig Superintendent - Onshore/Land Rigs (Resident role)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Rig Superintendent to lead onshore/land rig operations in Kuwait. This resident position requires deep‑water drilling expertise and the ability to manage multiple rigs while ensuring safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall supervision and management of drilling operations on the rig.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Monitor and control drilling activities to achieve efficient and effective performance.
• Coordinate with the drilling team to develop drilling plans and strategies.
• Oversee maintenance and repair of drilling equipment to maintain optimal performance.
• Analyze drilling data, recommend improvements, and adjust operations to meet project objectives.
• Supervise and train drilling personnel, fostering high competency and safety awareness.
• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders for smooth execution of drilling activities.
• Prepare reports and presentations on drilling performance and future plans.

Required profile

• At least 5 years recent experience as a Rig Superintendent in oil and gas.
• Strong knowledge of 3000 HP deep drilling rig operations.
• Proficiency in High‑Temperature High‑Pressure (HTHP) drilling techniques.
• Experience managing more than two rigs simultaneously.
• Familiarity with Kuwait drilling regulations and industry standards.
• Excellent leadership, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
