RPA Munitions Technician – Deployment Pool (K)

About the role

This position is part of a Deployment Pool that supports RPA (Remotely Piloted Aircraft) missions worldwide. The technician will travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations as needed to assemble, maintain, and dispose of a variety of munitions, ensuring aircraft armament systems are ready for operation.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, disassemble, renovate, transport, load, deactivate, modify, destroy, and handle missiles, precision weapons, and gravity bombs.
• Perform installation, configuration changes, modification, repair, and adjustment of aircraft armament systems and components.
• Conduct maintenance, modification, destruction, and demilitarization of ammunition and explosive components.
• Operate computer hardware, software utilities, and manual records for stock control and accounting.
• Inspect bomb release systems and missile launchers to determine repair or destruction needs.
• Support weapons loading, armament system certification, and quality‑assurance programs.
• Provide technical input on weapons management, inventory, and maintenance to managers.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent military/vocational technical training.
• Minimum one year of aircraft munitions/weapons maintenance experience.
• Completion of USAF Munitions/Weapons Tech School or DoD equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of technical publications related to aircraft maintenance.
