Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join a growing energy and industrial company in Kuwait. The role offers broad responsibility for accounting, banking and financial reporting, working closely with management and project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliations.
• Oversee bank transactions, payments, transfers and perform bank reconciliations.
• Handle Letters of Credit (LCs), Letters of Guarantee (LGs) and related banking documentation.
• Coordinate accounting activities linked to contracts, projects and ongoing operations.
• Take ownership of month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements.
• Prepare financial schedules and supporting documentation for external audits.
• Work closely with auditors, providing required financial information.
• Monitor cash flow, bank balances and project‑related financial transactions.
• Support management with financial reporting, analysis and accounting‑related matters.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of accounting experience.
• Previous experience in contracting, preferably project‑based.
• Strong knowledge of bank transactions, Letters of Credit and Guarantees.
• Proven experience in financial statement preparation and closing.
• Experience working with external auditors.
• Background in energy, industrial, engineering or contracting sectors is a plus.
• Excellent command of English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Detail‑oriented, pragmatic and able to work independently.
