Senior Instrument & Control Engineer

About the role

Surbana Jurong is seeking a Senior Instrument & Control Engineer to lead technical oversight of instrumentation, automation, control and SCADA systems on major utility, industrial and infrastructure projects in Kuwait. The role spans construction, testing, commissioning and hand‑over, ensuring reliable integration and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise installation of instrumentation, automation, control, telemetry and SCADA systems across complex projects.
• Review engineering documents, instrumentation layouts, control philosophies, P&IDs, loop diagrams, technical submittals and construction methods.
• Monitor installation, testing, commissioning and performance verification to meet project and industry standards.
• Support factory and site acceptance testing, loop checking, system integration and operational readiness assessments.
• Oversee QA/QC processes for all instrumentation, control and automation deliverables.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical, mechanical, process and control disciplines.
• Maintain commissioning records, defect logs, technical documentation and project reports.
• Review as‑built documentation, O&M manuals and hand‑over packages.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting, system optimisation, risk mitigation and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Control, Electrical, Automation engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in instrumentation, control, automation or SCADA engineering, preferably in a consultancy environment.
• Proven ability to manage large‑scale infrastructure projects and build trusted client relationships.
